One of the most symbolic attractions for Yekaterinburg is the “Church on the Blood”. It was erected in memory of the tragic event - in 1918 in Yekaterinburg, the family of the last Russian emperor Nicholas II was shot. On the spot where the family was shot, locals set up crosses for many years. In 2000, the city authorities decided to erect a magnificent cathedral on this site. Three years later, it was wholly completed.

The city has many unique architectural monuments. A striking example of architecture of the early 19th century is the Sevastyanov’s House. This beautiful palace was built in 1817. The estate itself and the farm buildings located next to it, have survived to this day in their original form. Another interesting feature of the architectural complex is a luxurious garden with a pond. It is very popular not only among tourists, but also among locals.

Nature lovers will also like the dendrological park located in Yekaterinburg. The beautiful park was founded in 1932, in an inconspicuous wetland area. Its collection became larger and more interesting every year. The park became available for public visits in 1962. Today on its territory, you can see rare plants brought from all over the world.
