At the beginning of the 20th century, there were attempts to demolish the pharmacy, but the townspeople restored the historical monument on their own initiative and for their own money. The building was damaged during the Second World War, but local authorities restored the pharmacy immediately afterward (interestingly, it was restored even earlier than Lübeck churches destroyed for the same reason).

The most picturesque place in Lübeck is the small fishing village of Gotmund - a fabulous corner in a modern city. It is here where the characters of Grimms' Fairy Tales could live, which comes to mind when imagining narrow streets, fairy-tale houses with thatched roofs and cozy courtyards, and fishing boats in the harbor. For fans of such picturesque and peaceful places, the village is of particular value. Those who want to enjoy great theatrical performances must visit the Zaubertheater with its fabulous atmosphere. No less exciting would be a walk through one of the picturesque parks of Lübeck - for example, Dragerpark or Schulgarten.

Among other museums that are of great interest to tourists wishing to explore the local culture, a few more should be mentioned. As is known, Lubeck was a major port of the Hanseatic League, and the European Hansemuseum is dedicated to this. Among its exhibits are copies of historical documents, antiques. Particular attention is paid to the life of merchants for whom life was not all sweet away from home. The 4th Federal Chancellor of Germany, Willy Brandt, was born in Lübeck, and now his house is converted into a museum. The house of another famous German man - Gunter Grass - is now a museum too. This is a must-have for those interested in the work of the writer and artist.
