Steadily the church was supplemented by new buildings, and in the 18th century not even a trace remained from the original design of the first church. The temple, which can be seen today, is a magnificent example of the late Gothic style. The entrance to the shrine is decorated with a statue of Ludwig Wilhelm.

Probably, New Castle remains the most famous architectural landmark of the city. The building of the castle was completed in 1479. For a long time it remained the main residence of the Margraves. The building was severely damaged, when Baden-Baden was entered by the French troops. Thanks to the work of the modern architects, nowadays the castle is completely restored. One prominent attraction is the Trinkhalle, a building that seems to have been built during the time of the Roman Empire. As a matter of fact, it was only erected in the 19th century, based on the Roman style. Notable features of the place are Corinthian columns and frescoes which illustrates stories of Baden-Baden legends. It is possible to discover water inside, however it is not drinkable. At the moment, tourists look forward to only an acquaintance with its ruins as the castle itself was destroyed in the 17th-18th centuries.

Great views of Baden-Baden and Schwarzwald can be beheld from MerkurBergbahn. You can get to the mountain by the funicular or by bus. The mountain itself is an interesting natural attraction; it is also a pleasure to watch from the city. There are also interesting religious monuments in the city. One of such is Eglise Russe, built for the reason that the Russian community in the city is quite strong. The building was constructed at the beginning of the 20th century and implemented in the best traditions of the Orthodox style. Another sacred monument is Cistercienserinnen-Abtei Lichtenthal. It was founded in 1245 and is one of the oldest monasteries in the entire region. It is very quiet here and the whole atmosphere evokes pacification.

The name of the city confirms the fact that the city even from the ancient times had functional baths. On its territory there used to be a large number of Roman baths and mineral springs. However, only ruins are left of many of them today. In the second half of the 19th century, the ruins of Romische Thermen were restored. It is believed that they are about 2,000 years old. Also at this time, was built the Friedrichsbad Roman-Irish Bath on the basis of the Roman style. The Caracalla Therme was built relatively recently, with everything here done with the latest technology. Nearby is situated the ruins of the Roman baths, which gives a special color to the area. Especially beautiful sculptures are located next to the thermal baths.
