The magnificent Baroque style has a number of unique features – the rigid united ensemble, beautiful pavilions and the garden. Buildings in this style are the most luxurious and marvellous in the world. The style has appeared in the Renaissance era. That means that the greatest part of buildings in this style was built in the 18th century. Wonderful king’s palaces, cathedrals and monasteries, theatres and villas will never stop adore people by their luxuriousness and delicacy.
Anichkov Palace, Russia
In Saint-Petersburg, you can see a lot of marvellous imperial palaces. One of the most beautiful and significant is the Anichkov Palace. This building is the oldest on Nevsky Avenue. It was placed near the Anichkov Bridge which is also a popular sightseeing in the city. In 1741, Elizabeth Petrovna, the daughter of Peter I, ordered Mikhail Zemtsov to build this great palace.
The palace has seen a lot of outstanding people in its walls. At first, Elisabeth presented it to Aleksey Razumovsky, later the palace was bought by the Empress Catherine the Great. At the end of the 18th century, the building was reconstructed and a number of the unique decorative elements were lost. The Anichkov Palace was the former imperial palace until the revolution. After the revolution, there was opened the St. Petersburg City Museum. During the Second World War in this marvellous palace was placed the surgical hospital. Since 1934, it was converted into the Young Pioneer Palace.
Nowadays the wonderful baroque style building has placed the Saint Petersburg City Palace of Youth Creativity. The great part of the palace is taken by the museum, also you can find there a library and a small theatre, where to go over children’s shows. You can join an interesting excursion over the palace. During the excursion, you can see saved elements of the old decoration and great pieces of art. The palace has a wonderful collection of the old sculptures. The palace looks outstanding thanks to the number of plants and flowers in its walls.

Church of the Holiest Saviour, Poland
Church of the Holiest Saviour is a Roman Catholic parish church in Warsaw, Poland. It has begun to build in 1901 but the dedication service was made only within 26 years. The church is a good example of the unique combination of two bright styles – the Baroque and the Renaissance. It is located on the Saviour Square, that until the 20th century wasn’t attractive for tourists and locals. This area was fully built with houses to the second half of the 19th century because the population of Warsaw has drastically increased. As the population in this area became bigger, it was decided to build there a church.

Dolmabahce Palace, Turkey
Dolmabahce Palace is situated in a very beautiful place, on the shore of Bosporus. In 1853 this palace was built for Abdülmecid I. The last was inspired by the Topkapi Palace and ordered to build his own residence in the baroque style. Originally, this palace had not only the wonderful façade decoration but also a great inner decoration. For interior decoration was spend about 14 tons of gold. The main staircase of the palace is made from the crystal glass.

Calke Abbey, United Kingdom
Calke Abbey has a quite outstanding history. It is a building of the 12th century Augustinian priory. Later the priory was closed under the order of Henry VIII. At the beginning of the 18th century, the building was fully rebuilt in the baroque style. The house was owned by the Harpur family for nearly 300 years until the last owner died. After 1985 the house came into possession of the government and became open for people.
