Travel Guide to Nurnberg, Germany

Despite the fact that Nuremberg is quite an old town, it perfectly combines ancient traditions and modern life. It doesn’t look like the majority of old cities of Europe, which are wrapped in peace and quiet. Life in Nurnberg never stops at any time of day and night.
While making a walk on the streets and visiting the local attractions, you can see merry street musicians, and see ancient houses very close to modern buildings. Nuremberg has prepared a lot of entertainment for its guests. There are two beautiful theaters in the city - Casablanca and Admiral Filmpalast, large zoos, and, of course, large number of places of interest.
Kaiserburg Castle, which construction took place in the 11th century, is one of the main symbols of the city. The building is surrounded by a large park, and the courtyard is decorated with beautiful sculptures. On the territory of the castle are also located a small chapel and a 50 m deep well. The Church of St. Lawrence built in 1260 is one of the most important religious places of interest. This beautiful building represents the early Gothic style. Many years ago an ancient Roman basilica was standing on the territory of the church. During the Second World War, the majority of the treasures from the church were looted, but some of them were saved. Today everyone can see the priceless relics that have been kept in the church for hundreds of years. Near the center of the city you will find Market Square, which is the location of a stunningly beautiful Church of Our Lady. This is a great place for walking. Here you will find wonderful fountains and sculptures, as well as several souvenir shops. On Christmas Eve the square becomes the location of fair traders that attract people from all over the country.
