1. The best way to explore the historical center of Pisa for tourists is on foot as all the most significant landmarks and sights of the destination are located close to each other. Besides, a free parking place in the historic area of Pisa is really challenging to find which can give tourists lots of troubles.
2. Pisa is excellently networked with neighboring cities of Florence, Lucca and Livorno. Tourists will easily manage to get even to Rome. A cost of a trip is rather affordable. It varies from 2 to 5 Euro depending on the length of a trip. Another way to reach neighboring cities is by bus.
3. The hottest months of the year are considered to be July and August as in this period the air temperature raises up to +30C. Winters are rather mild in the area. Even in January the temperature hardly ever falls below +10C however vacation plans may be interrupted with frequent heavy rains.
4. A bicycle is a popular type of transport in the city. One can rent a bicycle in one of the numerous rental centers. The most popular one is considered to be the MaxiRent rental center. A day of rent of a bicycle will cost about 10 Euro. One should also keep in mind that many rental centers have a day off on Sundays.
6. Taxi service will be profitable to use for those tourists who travel in big groups. Boarding will cost about 3 Euro and each 1 km of a trip will cost additionally about 1 Euro. Taxi rates change depending o the time of the day. After 23:00 the rate will be by half higher. Weekends in Pisa feature special taxi rates as well.
7. Prudent tourists should better avoid restaurants and stores which are located in close vicinity to city landmarks. Remote areas of the city are best destination for shopping tours as prices for goods there will be sufficiently lower and a choice of goods will be rather vast.
