Among the preserved ancient churches in the city, Santa Maria del la Pieve deserves special attention. This beautiful church was built in the 12th century, with part of its original design elements miraculously preserved to this day. In the church you can see some beautiful ancient frescoes, which were created by the works of masters of the Giotto school. Also there remains a lot of beautiful bas-reliefs, as well as the polyptych, worked by a famous painter Pietro Lorenzetti in 1320.
