You should definitely visit local souvladzikos on Alonissos. They are kebab houses where you can taste souvlaki and gyro. Souvlaki is a local variant of kebab. It is considered to be one of the most ancient Greek dishes. Souvlaki can be made of lamb, chicken, seafood and even vegetables. It is grilled on a skewer and usually eaten straight off the skewer.
