4. The most beneficial way to make phone calls to other cities and countries is to use special public telephones that are marked with the «TELESELEZIONE» sign. They can be installed close to governmental institutions and shopping centers, restaurants and bars. These payphones are operated by special chips and plastic cards that can be bought in any newspaper or tobacco outlet.
6. Power supply voltage is 220V. All hotels are equipped with the standard European wall sockets. If necessary, adapters and connectors for appliances can be purchased at any specialty store. Large hotels usually provide them on request.
7. When meeting with local residents, tourists should not forget to say not only their name, but also their profession. These are the rules of the local etiquette. When entering a public institution, make sure you don’t forget to greet the people present.
8. Smoking in public places is prohibited in Cagliari, so you should not forget to pay particular attention to prohibitory signs. There are specially designated areas for smokers close to restaurants, shopping centers and government agencies.
