Climb the Watchtower of the Alcazar Fortress

You can visit a defensive fortress called Alcazar in Cordoba. It is located next to the Roman Bridge. Spanish royalty has lived in it in the past. You will see a picturesque park, cascading fountains, beautiful sculptures, a castle, and large pools that will save you from the summer heat. The attraction is open to the public from 8:30 to 20:30 from Tuesday to Friday. You can visit it until 16:30 on Saturday and until 14:30 on Sunday. Monday is a day off. Climb to the Observation Deck of the Calahorra Tower

The medieval defensive structure is located near the Roman Bridge. This is the tower of Calahorra. You can take a tour of the Museum of Three Cultures here. It is open from 10 am on any day of the week. You will know how the famous inhabitants of Andalusia lived and worked, get acquainted with important historical events of the country, and go on a 3D tour of the city's architectural monuments. You will go up to the excellent observation platform by 78 steps after the tour. You will admire the Guadalquivir River, the nearby neighborhoods of Cordoba, the Roman Bridge, the ruined Moorish watermills and the Mezquita.

Visit the Observation Deck of the Monastery

Even if you do not consider yourself a religious person, you should come to a functioning monastery. It was built in the middle ages. The monastery is called Ermitas de Cordoba. Monks belonging to the order of barefoot Carmelites live in 13 small rooms here. However, you will not be allowed into the residential part of the monastery. But if you buy a ticket for 1.5 euros you will walk along the avenue where the cypress trees grow, visit the chapel and a great viewing platform. A huge sculpture of Jesus Christ is installed there. View the Old City from the Malmuerta Tower

The Malmuerta watchtower is located on the Plaza de Colón in the north direction from the center of Córdoba. It is part of the ruined fortress wall that surrounded the city. Its shape resembles an octagon. There are many dark legends about it because of its name. It translates as "Evil Death". You can get here from Mezquita in half an hour. If you climb to its top you will see a magnificent panorama of the Old City.

If you decide to go horse riding you can visit the riding school in Cordoba. If you are just getting started acquaintance with horses you will learn basic skills here. Classes will be held in the fresh air due to the mild climate. A qualified instructor will train you. But if you are already an experienced rider you will rent a horse to ride around the city. You can also go for a walk in a horse-drawn carriage. You will rent it not far from the Mezquita.
