Travel Guide to Tenerife, Spain

This Spanish island simply strikes its visitors by the number of sites and places of interest. Among them you will find old buildings and modern cultural centers, as well as breathtaking natural reserves.
Teide Volcano is the main sight of the resort. The name of the city has come from the name of volcano. It can be literally translated as "Snow Mountain" because early settlers called the town after they had seen a unique view of snow-covered peaks of Teide. The piedmont area is the location of National Park Las Ca?adas del Teide. The landscape here reminds of scenes from the movie about Moon – you will see same weathered rocks and lava flows. Only amazing plants give this area the "Earth" look.
The most famous ancient monuments of this place are the pyramids of G??mar, which are located in the eastern part of the city. The purpose of this architectural complex remains a mystery up to our days. Nowadays Ethnographic Park is organized around the pyramids. The staff of this complex will tell all visitors about their studies and assumptions concerning this mysterious place.
The most popular entertainment complex of this place is called Loro Parque. Here you will find a large aquarium, a botanical garden, a zoo and many exciting attractions for young visitors. Guests of the park can make a walk through the tunnel of sharks, watch dolphins’ performances, visit the cave of bats and see beautiful and large parrots. Eagles Park is another notable park and a famous nature reserve. Here you can see over 500 species of wild animals and birds, visit an unforgettable performance, the main actors in which are eagles. Lovers of old architectural buildings will surely like the tour to Castle of San Miguel. Here take place various jousting tournaments, the winners of which are determined by spectators.
