In Adeje interesting excursion programs can be organised, as there are not only natural, but also historical sites. The most striking landmark of colonial times is the monastery built in 1967. The very first monastic monasteries have appeared in the 16th century, and today tourists can admire the preserved monastic buildings, as well as see the beautiful Saint Ursula’s Church.
Not less interesting is the fortress of Casa Fuerte, named after its founder. This fortress was built in 1553 to protect the coast from constant invasions of pirates. More than three hundred years the impregnable fortress protected the town from uninvited guests, and in 1902 it was almost completely destroyed during a major fire. In the walls of the fortress were kept many valuable historical artefacts. The few that managed to be saved today are represented in the Museum of the Canary Islands, located on the island of Gran Canaria.

The most attractive and popular entertainment for the park guests is still climbing the Garajonay mountain, which is nothing but an ancient extinct volcano. The mountain offers a simply great view of the island; evergreen forests and the coast can be admired in all their glory. The year-round ecological museum exhibition that is devoted to the peculiarities of the ecosystem of the La Gomera island, operates in the park. Another great place to visit is the Botanical Garden. … Read further

Piramides de Guimar

From the series “Top Survived Pyramids from Previous Civilizations”
Many scientists including Tur Hayerdal disagree with this theory of the appearance of the pyramids. In addition to the rolling stones from the local fields, the lava beds were also used during the construction of the pyramids. The ground was paved carefully before the pyramid was built. And the regular architectural form of the buildings and inexplicably inexplicable: why would you form the pyramids from the stones if you could just pile them up? Today, six ancient pyramids are united in the great complex, on whose territory there are several museums and several excellent recreation areas. Many tourists strive to visit Guimar pyramids on the day of the summer westerly turn to observe the unique phenomenon - the twilight - still a mystery of the strange buildings. … Read further
