New Elite Scotch Club Opens in the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh

The Balmoral hotel in Edinburgh, which is a part of the Rocco Forte Collection, has announced the opening of the new Scotch Club. The venue was developed in collaboration with The Macallan, a company that delivers premium and personalized service for whisky connoisseurs. This is a good match for The Balmoral, one of the leading luxury hotel chains in Scotland.

The new elite club promises that each visit will be a memorable one. A team of whisky experts and ambassadors will prepare something new every time club members come to enjoy the finest whisky. The amber drink carefully selected by The Macallan is served in Lalique glasses. This French crystal maker is famous for its flawless quality. Whisky Ambassadors can also make cocktails with the Macallan Malt Scotch Whisky.

At the moment, The Balmoral accepts 12 members to join the new club. Everyone else can join the waiting list – the hotel will add 23 more members by the end of the year. The 12-month membership starts from £710. This entry-level membership includes an own bottle of The Macallan Double Cask 18 Years Old, one of the signature whisky types of the distillery. The most expensive membership costs £17,700 and includes a limited collection bottle - The Macallan Red Collection 40 Years Old. The membership also includes other benefits such as a two-hour-long annual complimentary whisky sampling session with the club’s ambassador, invitations to masterclasses, and discounts on the Balmoral suites.

A hotel in Edinburgh is a perfect place to open such a club. The SCOTCH team hopes that members will also like the idea of engraving their names on the personal whisky bottles that will be kept in the club. The Balmoral hopes to turn every visit to the club into an outstanding occasion. Members can also bring their friends and family and enjoy the comfortable atmosphere of the club together.

The design of the new club was designed by Olga Polizzi. She tried to reflect the rich whisky heritage of Edinburgh in the look of SCOTCH. Aged elements and subtle lighting underline that whisky is not just a drink, it is also art. The bar also features limited edition artworks by The Macallan and displays a true treasure – bottles of The Macallan Red Collection 40 Years Old.
