This multicultural city is a popular business and leisure destination, so hotels in London are famous for their high occupancy. Of course, this fact attracts investors and hoteliers to the busy market of the UK’s capital. Despite the coronavirus and Brexit, a whole bunch of new luxury hotels with start working in London this year.

These new hotels will have to operate during a challenging period. Officially closed in March, London opened with some limitations only in late summer. Even after that London hotels had to cope with changing restrictions. Experts call 2020 the most challenging year since World War II. However, Brexit negotiations and an uncertain future cannot prevent new hotel openings that we will see this year. Here are some of the most notable projects.

NoMad hotel in London is set to open its doors in February. It is located in a famous building that once was the Bow Street Magistrates Court. Many prominent figures such as Oscar Wilde, Chile’s General Pinochet, and suffragette leaders visited this court to face the law. Some of the hotel’s rooms are made in prison cells. The next hotel on our list, Chateau Denmark, has a rich musical heritage. Surrounded by guitar shops and recording studios of Denmark Street, the 55-room hotel is open in the building where Elton John and Jimi Hendrix had rehearsals, and David Bowie signed his first contract. Guests will be able to visit concert venues and music studios.

Soho will also have several notable openings in 2021. The Londoner hotel is set to open in April. This 350-room hotel will come with an outdoor fire pit and a large restaurant on the 16th floor. Travelers will be able to stay at one more new Soho hotel, the Broadwick, starting from September.

The Carlton Tower Jumeirah in Knightsbridge remained closed for more than a year for refurbishment purposes. It will reopen in the first quarter of 2021, featuring 186 upgraded rooms, a 20-meter swimming pool, and two fine restaurants. Gourmets will be particularly interested in the next hotel – Nobu Portman Square, which is located in a heritage building on the Euston Road. Tourists seeking luxury and tranquility will be interested in Cambridge House on Piccadilly and the nearby Mayfair Townhouse.
