The Dominican Republic continues to build hotels
The resorts of the Dominican Republic continue to delight with new interesting hotel openings. In December, the new hotel Serenade Punta Cana Beach & Spa began to receive guests, it serves tourists on an all-inclusive basis. The hotel is located on the picturesque beach of Cabeza de Toro and occupies a vast area on which seven buildings were built.
In total, more than 600 rooms are available for guests. Suitable rooms can be found by independent travelers, and by couples in love, and by families. The hotel also has fairly large rooms, which can simultaneously accommodate up to six guests.
There are also several restaurants and bars of various specialization. Guests will have the opportunity to relax by the pool and devote time to sports entertainment. There are several clubs for children of different ages. One of the main features of the resort hotel is its own casino, and it also has special rooms for conducting business meetings.
Despite all the difficulties of 2020, construction of a new and unique hotel Iberostar Heritage Las Mercedes has begun in the Dominican Republic. It is located in Santo Domingo, the hotel is scheduled to open in 2022. The hotel will be built in the very center of a beautiful historical city; it will become a real boon for travelers who like to devote time to excursions.
The new hotel Santo Domingo will be located a few steps from the Plaza de España. Guests can reach in a few minutes the ancient church Nuestra Señora de Altagracia, they can also explore the ruins of the ancient monastery of St. Francis. According to rough estimates, the cost of construction will be about $25 million.
The Iberostar Heritage Las Mercedes will open more than 130 rooms and promises to be one of the most upscale hotel in the region. In 2020, resorts in the Dominican Republic were among the first to welcome foreign visitors after the relaxation of quarantine measures. For some hotels in Punta Cana and other popular resorts, the summer season turned out to be quite successful, despite all the existing restrictions, the occupancy rate of hotels remained close to the maximum allowable.
