Albertville is a small town located in mountains in the South-East of the country. This town is widely known as a high quality ski resort and a cultural center. It was founded by Charles Albert, the king of Scandinavia, in 1836. Earlier a small medieval village was located on the territory of modern Albertville. Nowadays only several ancient buildings remind of that fact. Albertville was founded on the crossing of important trading paths that connected Italy, France, and Sweden. The town got international fame and acknowledgement after Winter Olympic Games that took place there in 1992.

In order to conduct all competitions, a series of large sports objects, stadiums, and ice palaces were built in Albertville. Nowadays these facilities are one of the most important advantages for tourists.
