Rosewood to Open a Hotel in Rome in Three Buildings
Rosewood Hotels and Resorts will open its first hotel in Rome. One of the leading luxury chains in the world will have a hotel that is located not in one but three historic buildings in the Italian capital. Overlooking the legendary Via Veneto, Rosewood Rome will occupy the former headquarters of Banca Nazionale del Lavoro (BNL). The project is due to be ready in 2023.
The Rosewood hotel in Rome is destined to be popular. It is located in the heart of the capital where it occupies the entire block. The hotel will consist of three historic buildings that date back to the beginning of the 20th century. The BNL headquarters building is the central part of the hotel. Originally designed by Marcello Piacentini, a famous Italian architect, the building was reimagined to meet modern standards of hospitality. The engineering company Jacobs and Australian BAR Studio specializing in interior design formed the new look of the historic attraction, paying great respect for the Piacentini’s legacy.
The hotel’s location close to Via Veneto was one of the inspirations for the design. Celebrated by many icons of Italian art including Federico Fellini and his legendary La Dolce Vita, Via Veneto is one of the most well-known and elegant streets in Rome. The new hotel skillfully mixes heritage, ambiance, sophistication, and dolce far niente or “the art of doing nothing”.
This Rome hotel will have 157 guestrooms including 44 suites. Dining options are represented by a lobby bar, an Italian bistro, and a rooftop café and bar with a terrace. This is a perfect destination for everyone who likes luxury and style. The hotel will also feature a spa center, a Roman Bathhouse, a wellness terrace, a fitness center, a swimming pool, several meeting rooms, and a large ballroom.
When the hotel in Rome starts working, it will be the 4th property by Rosewood in Italy. At the moment, the hotelier operates only a hotel in Tuscany but it will open hotels in Porto Cervo and Venice in 2022 and 2023. Europe is a strategic market for the hotelier, and so Rosewood has been actively seeking new opportunities in expanding its presence in the continent. Rome has always been one of the top priorities due to its historic heritage and unforgettable charm. Together with its partner Antirion SGR, Rosewood hopes to set a new standard of luxury in the capital of Italy.
