Velika Gorica was founded in 1278. This is a small cozy town with interesting history. It is rich in sights and cultural values. One more famous object in the town is Turopolje Museum that was opened in the building of the former city hall. The house was built in 1765. At that time the first floor of the building was used as a prison and the second floor was devoted to assemblies.
