There is the small town of Vrboska in the northern part of the island. It stretches along the coastline and is known as the longest town on the island. The oldest building in the town is St. Peter Church built in the second half of the 14th century. In the eastern part of Hvar, one of the most interesting towns for tourists is Sucuraj. In its territory, there are unique historical monuments, the most interesting of which is the Franciscan monastery named after St. Augustine. As the researchers have found out, this cafe was formed in the Neolithic period. Its age is over 4.5 thousand years. When the cave was explored, a lot of unique archeological artifacts were found. Most of them are now presented in the historical museum of one of the nearest villages.
