An unusual town named Makarska is located in the vicinity of Oseyava and St. Peter peninsulas in Dalmatia also known as a cultural, economic and sport center of Croatia. The location of the town is truly picturesque as east to the Cape of St. Peter you will find numerous marinas and a port, while the western part of town is notable for ribbons of emerald beaches that steadily turn into a magnificent waterfront Marineta.

In the picturesque foothills district, there is an ancient Church of St. Mark, which was built several decades ago and was consecrated in 1756. Now, the church is a model of the Neo-Gothic style and keeps valuable religious relics within its walls. In front of the church is a beautiful fortress, named after the famous Croatian poet Andrija Kacic. On national holidays, interesting events are held in the square. Not long ago, a new sculpture of the poet was installed on the square.

Nature lovers will have the opportunity to visit the Biokovo Nature Park, the main attraction of which is the Dinaric Mountains. This is the second highest mountain in the world. In 1981, a park was formed around the mountain massif. In addition to the majestic mountain peaks, visitors can see many rare plants, as well as watch wild animals, for which these unassailable mountains have become a home.

One of the most beautiful and interesting places for walking in the resort will be the Peninsula of St. Peter. Its main attraction is a statue of the saint. On the peninsula, you can see the remaining fragments of old defensive structures. Now, these places are completely given to the power of nature. Almost all the territory of the peninsula is covered by dense vegetation, against whose background fragments of historical buildings look simply unique.

The amazing natural beauty can be admired in the Osejava Park. It is located on a mountain slope that hangs over a small picturesque bay. In this park, convenient walkways are built for visitors. The level of bias in this area is quite large, which could not but affect the appearance of vegetation. In some parts of the park, it may seem that the trees grow under a big slope. In fact, their crowns, which naturally stretch towards the light, were so unusually formed. Some areas of the park offer a wonderful view of the coast.

In the immediate vicinity of the city there is a picturesque village called Kotishina. Here, travelers will be able to see preserved fragments of an ancient medieval castle, and also visit the ancient botanical garden. In this village, even after hundreds of years later, the very original and hospitable atmosphere has been preserved.
