The local people are friendly and quite sociable. This is particularly true about young citizens of this city. Older citizens usually prefer quieter rest, although it can be also called quite active - countryside travelling and sports remain the favorite pastime of local people.

Locals are famous for their love to sport. We should say a couple of words about this passion separately. The city’s sports facilities are visited absolutely by people of all ages. On mornings the city’s parks are always full of cyclists and people who came here to make a jog. Tourists are also advised to rent a bike and make a walk through picturesque streets of the city. For many local people bike has even become the main vehicle, so they can exercise right on their way to work. As for playing types of sports, the most popular ones are football and tennis. However, residents of the city do not like visiting crowded stadiums - sport bars are much more attractive to them.
Beer festival is one of the most exciting holidays of the city. For the first time the festival was organized in Prague back in 2008. The festival is celebrated in May and usually lasts two weeks. This is a truly spectacular show with widest choice of food, beverages and entertainments, so there is no wonder why the festival attracts more and more guests each year. The festival also gathers the best breweries of the country, who present here their best sorts of beer. During the celebration bakers and chefs do not cease to amaze gourmet by their unusual dishes. Huge tents are installed throughout the city. The tents act like summer open-air cafes and can accommodate up to ten thousand people. An interesting fact – the organizers of the festival have developed their own special currency, which is known as "beer thaler". Visitors can buy beer in tents using only special tokens which are sold in local stores in small packages. Also, such unusual "beer" currency can be used to buy interesting souvenirs or to participate in various entertaining activities.
