In India, people speak more than a hundred languages. Hindi is the most common language, followed by Bengali, Tamil, Urdu, and others. Many Indians know the English Language, which is mainly used in politics and business dealings. Indians are friendly, optimistic, love to talk and argue. They are mainly extroverts and prefer to be among people, love noisy holidays and parties. There is a downside here: the people of India do not have a clear idea about personal space and often poke their noses into other people’s business out of curiosity. Since Indians have more characteristics of collectivism rather than individualism, they are very dependent on the opinions of others and often respect others’ opinions as if it was their own, just because majority shares these opinions.

It is not common to walk fast in India as most of the locals are known to take strolls. One of the important Indian ideas is the caste system. People can treat their fellow countryman from the lower social stratum arrogantly, and suck up to those who surpass them. The idea of karma allows people without a pang of conscience to take a position in society, not deserved by them personally but given in connection with the caste system.
