In Hilversum has placed the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision. It became known for the world thanks to its unusual design. The Institute’s façade is decorated with colourful glass panels that with the photodiode lights look wonderful. This building was projected by architects from Neutelings Riedijk studio. On the surface, it may resemble a huge TV screen.
The project of this bright façade was made by an artist Jaap Drupsteen. He decided to devote this building to the history of Dutch television. Every glass panel on the façade is a washed-out photo where is depicted one or another important moment from the history of television. All photos were thoroughly chosen by the artist. He matched them on the façade by colour. The main part of the building is a warehouse of the audio-visual depository that is one of the largest in Europe.
In the great beautiful building has also placed offices and conference halls. The last floor is used by the Museum of Mass Media, which is open for all guests of the city. The 54th meters façade was decorated within three years. The façade has 2 100 vivid panels. Inside the building has a lot of unusual glass elements. The building has marvellous glass staircases, glass partitions that separated large area. At night Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision looks amazing.
