Kelburn Castle, Scotland

From series “The Most Wonderful Castles and Palaces”
Year: 13th century.

The Kelburn Castle, located in Scotland, in the surroundings of the town of Glasgows, is truly fabulous. The castle, built in the 13th century, has been reconstructed many times over the course of a long history, and hardly rose among the other old Scottish castles until 2007. The last reconstruction was carried out in 2007. The facade of the old building should be renovated, but there was no money for it.

Kelburn Castle, Scotland The local authorities have organized an original campaign and used the gifted modern graffiti painters for renovation. A few months later, a part of the facade of the old castle was adorned with colorful abstract painting. The best painters from Scotland and Brazil have worked on the design of the castle façade. After renovating in 2007, Kelburn has begun to attract a lot more curious tourists and became the world-famous landmark in a few months.

The great resources collected from the visit of the castle were enough to completely renovate the historical structure. Today, he looks excellent. The owner of the castle is Count Patrick Boyle, on whose initiative the original art event was held. The owner of the historical building takes a lot of effort to preserve the unique shape of the façade. The preservation of the genuine exterior of architectural monuments is one of the most important and inviolable rules of the Historical Society of Scotland. Next - Palace in Kolomenskoe

Top destination around Kelburn Castle - Kilmarnock

Just a few steps away from John Finnie Street and the Burns Monument are shady alleys of Kay Park. On the way to it, you will certainly stumble upon the city theater building and the museum's repository called the Dick Institute. The exhibition hall was named after its benefactor - James Dick, a native of Kilmarnock who spent most of his life in Australia.

The museum complex operates in the city since 1901. A few years later it burned down, then restoration work was carried out within its walls, and during the Second World War, the Dick Institute received hundreds of wounded, having become a military hospital for many months. Today, the museum exhibits are kept under one roof with a library and a gallery. What else is East Ayrshire interesting for? Of course, for its love for golf. Such a small town as Kilmarnock has as many as twenty courses! Moreover, local schools teaching this traditional sport of English nobles are among the best in the world! Among Kilmarnock's many private schools, there are also municipal clubs, which can be attended by anyone. First of all, these include "Annanhill” located on Irvine Road, “Caprington” on Air Road, and “Doon Valley” country school.
