Guests of the Cappadocia region can take a break in the recreation by visiting the original museum, which houses the world's largest collection of women's hair. The museum is located in the tiny town of Avanos and was founded by the locals named Chez Galip. The history of the museum foundation is incredibly interesting and romantic. In 1979, the founder separated himself from his lover, who left him a curl of hair.

It became the first exhibit of the future museum, whose collection today consists of more than 16,000 curls. At that time, Chez Galip had a small pottery store, which the women often visited to buy a new milk jug or the dishes. He told them of his sad story, and the moved women also made the hair-locks to the in love potter. Gradually the unusual collection became bigger and bigger. More than 16,000 women have visited the pottery shop for 30 years.
After the opening of the museum, which was combined with the workshop, the number of visitors became even greater. Each lock in the museum has a guide booklet with the name of the woman and her address. Each year, Chez Galip chooses 10 curls and asks these women guests. The women can now also participate in the addition of the museum collection, as well as in the old pottery workshop the magnificent dishes and decor items buy.
