The unique highland lowlands, located not far from the Mojave Desert, has a frightening name - Valley of Death. The depth of the valley forms 86 meters, and its area reaches 7 800 square meters. At the moment, the valley of death is located on the territory of the extensive nature reserve of the same name. The sink has an elongated shape. From the east and west sides it is surrounded by the high mountain chains - Amargos Range and Panamint Range. On the north end of the shallow Talkessel lies Silvania mountain, and to the south of the valley - Owlshead mountain.
The unique lowland is the hottest spot on the territory of the United States. Here, in 1913, the climate record was recorded - the air temperature reached 56.7 degrees. It is very rarely raining in the wasteland, so there is no water even in the deepest parts of the valley. Nevertheless, after the continual rainfall, sometimes the fairly large lakes are formed in the valley of death, which dry themselves completely in the drought.
The best time to visit the highlands is the period from the beginning of november to the beginning of corn. At this time the relatively cool weather prevails, so you can walk through the gorge maximally comfortable. The Valley of Death hides a lot of the remarkable sights with the interesting names, among which the painter's palette must be mentioned above all. These are the incredibly beautiful rocks that are dyed in different colors by nature. Surprisingly, the fauna of the valley and its surroundings is incredibly diverse. The number of plant species presented here is more than 1 000.
