Rotterdam can offer its guests widest choice of interesting excursions and entertainments. Many attractions are located in the port area. From an architectural point of view the so called Oude Haven houses are very interesting sights, which are great examples of Art Nouveau style. These fancy houses were built relatively not long ago - in 1984 - but already became an important object of almost every excursion in Rotterdam. Visitors are also recommended to visit Van Nellefabriek, an old tobacco factory the building of which was completed in 1931 and lasted six years. The beautiful historic building was completely reconstructed right after the closing of the factory. The reconstruction took place in the beginning of 90s.

Art lovers should certainly not forget to visit Kunsthal center, which regularly hosts exhibitions of contemporary painters and sculptors. The gallery is the location of a constant exhibition of paintings and photographs made by local artists. Boijmans Van Beuningen Museum features a unique collection of art, including works by artists of the 16th century, antique porcelain and silver, as well as sculptures and works of contemporary graphic artists.
