Wurzburg is rich in fascinating historic sights. The Mainfrankisches Museum shows bright works by Reimenschneider (1460-1531). Here you can see one of the country's oldest churches – the Marienkirche, dating back to AD 706. The Castle-Palace, performed in Baroque style, is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It used to be Prince Bishop's residence, and it is actually Balthaar Neumann's creation. While designing the building, the architect incorporated many ideas used in Versailles.
In the Emperoe's Hall and the Hofgarten, Mozart concerts are held in just the same way as they were in the olden times, with candle light being used instead of electric light. The Rococo-style Falcon House (Haus zum Falken) is a must-see place for those interested in old architecture, as well as for book lovers, since the town library is housed here.
