The beautiful building made in Baroque style miraculously survived during the years of World War II. The inner premises of the palace are decorated with frescoes by the famous Italian artist Domenico Tiepolo. The mural that decorates the wall above the grand staircase is the largest in the world. Nowadays the beautiful palace hosts various cultural events and music concerts. A part of its premises has been converted into a museum. The spacious gallery exhibits the works of artists of 15 - 18 centuries. Residenz Palace is surrounded by a no less beautiful park. Among the religious sites worth visiting we simply cannot fail to mention St. Kilian Cathedral, the high towers of which can be seen from different parts of the city. The construction of the cathedral was started in the 11th century and lasted approximately 100 years. The exterior of the cathedral is very elegant and modest, while its inner premises simply strike visitors with their beautiful decorations and amazing details in baroque style. The cathedral keeps several precious religious artifacts, each of which has its own unique history.
