Nowadays the beautiful palace hosts various cultural events and music concerts. A part of its premises has been converted into a museum. The spacious gallery exhibits the works of artists of 15 - 18 centuries. Residenz Palace is surrounded by a no less beautiful park. Among the religious sites worth visiting we simply cannot fail to mention St. Kilian Cathedral, the high towers of which can be seen from different parts of the city. The construction of the cathedral was started in the 11th century and lasted approximately 100 years. The exterior of the cathedral is very elegant and modest, while its inner premises simply strike visitors with their beautiful decorations and amazing details in baroque style. The cathedral keeps several precious religious artifacts, each of which has its own unique history.
A beautiful old street starts just near the cathedral. Make a walk along it and you will reach the building of the City Hall. The building is also a very interesting sight from an architectural point of view. There is a no less important destination for excursions near the City Hall - the bridge of Alte Mainbrücke. Architecture connoisseurs will certainly notice similarities with another famous place of interest - the famous Charles Bridge located in Prague. Right behind the bridge begins the territory of majestic Marienberg Castle, which is also one of the oldest buildings in Wurzburg.
