1. Security and confidentiality of your data

Is my credit card data sent confidentially and secure?

Sure. Our reservation system enables all the necessary security mechanisms for keeping your data confidential and private. The data that you specify in the booking forms is sent to us via Internet in the encrypted format. We use the SSL-encryption (Secure Socket Layer - our booking pages start with https://). The SSL-certificat has been issued for us by the Thawte certification center.

Do you keep my input data confidentially in the system?

We guaranty anonymity of our client information. We do not provide this information to third-parties, that do not take part in the booking process.

SSL-encryption, what is this and how is it used?

As we mentioned above, our system uses the SSL-encryption while receiving your personal and financial data. SSL-encryption enables encoding the information transmitted through the Internet, such that noone can catch and decode the information during the data transfer. All types of data transfers are SSL-encrypted in our system. Our SSL certificate has been issued by Thawte certification center. We are also using other software and hardware means to protect our storage server from all the malicious attacks.


2. Booking steps

General data on the booking process

OrangeSmile.com server provides you a real-time access to availability, prices and reservation of all rooms in our hotel database. Selecting your favorite hotel rooms and dates, you can reserve them at the same moment and receive the confirmation in a few seconds. In order to reserve a hotel rooms you need to provide us the required information. The reservation is absolutely free. You pay only upon the hotel departure, except for the room types marked as 'Non-Refundable' or 'Special booking and cancellation conditions', when a hotel may charge your credit card in advance.

Step-by-step instructions on the hotel reservation process

(1) select the desired hotel; for this you can use the search forms that allow you to specify your criteria;
(2) read the information on the hotel description page about the conditions of stay, payment and cancellation;
(3) select a room type most suitable for you in terms of size and price;
(4) click the button "Book" located in front of the selected room type;
(5) chose a number of rooms to book and click "Continue";
(6) fill out the form, select a booking method and fill all the data needed for the selected method (check booking methods);
(7) on the next page fill out the form with your personal details and confirm it. We immediately send you the confirmation letter to your e-mail address. You can use this confirmation letter anytime to cancel your booking if needed (Cancellation is free of charge if not stated otherwise - check booking cancellation);


3. Booking methods

Why does OrangeSmile.com ask for my credit card details?

OrangeSmile Tours never withdraws money from your credit card. We need your credit card details only to send them to the hotel and to guarantee your payment for the room during your hotel departure. The hotel also may take fines for late cancellation or non-show-up (normally these fines are the price of one room-night, but can also be a full-stay price).

Will the hotel take a deposit from my credit card?

Normally, hotels do not take the deposits from client credit cards. In (that rare) case when a hotel does take a deposit, this will be stated clearly on the hotel description page.

What kind of credit cards can I use to guarantee the room reservation?

MasterCard, Visa, DinnerClub and American Express are accepted as a quarantee.

Can I use another credit card or cash for the payment at the hotel?

Sure. We need your credit card data only for booking purposes. You can use different credit cars or cash for the payment at the hotel.

The hotel withdrew money from my credit card. How can I return them back?

OrangeSmile.com never withdraw money from credit cards of our clients. Therefore you should contact the hotel directly. You can find all the contact detais of the hotel at the confirmation letter sent you by e-mail.

I do not have a credit card. Can I book a hotel room?

Unfortunately, all hotels in our database require credit card details for reservation guarantee. Therefore, we do not provide non-credit-card reservation facilities.

How secure is it to insert my credit card details onto your forms? What kind of security does OrangeSmile.com provide?

This is absolutely secure. Please take a look at the section 1. Security and confidentiality of your data


4. Blocking money on a credit card

Will the hotel block the booking amount on my credit card?

There are two options here: (a) a hotel may block an amount for one room-night; (b) a hotel may block an amount for the full stay; (c) a hotel does not block any amount on your credit card. These blocking conditions are specified on the hotel description page.


5. Booking confirmation

How will I know that my booking is confirmed by the hotel?

Once you have confirmed your booking, the system will open a page representing all the information about your booking, including your reservation number (ID). Beside this, the same confirmation letter will be sent to your e-mail address.


6. Booking cancellation

How can I cancel my booking?

You can click on the "cancellation link" in the confirmation letter sent to your e-mail address.

How to change my booking (dates, rooms, hotels)?

In order to change your booking, we advise you to follow the link "How to Cancel/Change your reservation" in your confirmation email and request the change.

What kind of fines can be applied for late cancellation?

OrangeSmile.com never takes fines for late cancellation. However, majority of the hotels can take fines from your credit card for late cancellation. This sort of information is specified in the subsection "Booking Cancellation" at the hotel description page.

How can I be sure that the reservation is really cancelled?

Once you cancel your booking, we will send you the confirmation of the cancellation to your e-mail address.

What are the conditions for cancellation?

Please take a note that the cancellation conditions vary from hotel. In major cases cancellation should be done 24-hours before the arrival. Please look at the hotel description page for your selected hotel - at the section "Cancellation".


7. Room prices

The specified room price - is it for one person or for one room?

The prices are specified per room basis (unless stated otherwise).

Can the room price change after I booked it?

No. The room price will remain the same as stated in your confirmation letter. By the way, it may, however, happen that some charges (e.g. a city tax, an extra bed) are not included in the room price. We advice you to check the hotel description page and the description of the room before booking.

Do I pay for the reservation services at OrangeSmile.com?

No. Our reservation service is free.

Does the room price include breakfast?

For this information please look at the selected hotel description page. This service may or may not be provided by a hotel.

Does the room price include local taxes?

Normally, taxes are included in the room price. However, some hotels charge additional taxes. Please look at the selected hotel description page.


8. Hotel options

Is it possible to request non-smoking room (high-floor, nice view, close to swimming pool, etc)?

While filling out the booking forms, you can specify your wishes in the "Smoking" option or in the section "Special wishes". The hotel administration will try to satisfy your requests. We cannot guarantee the requests satisfaction, therefore it is best to call the hotel and confirm your wishes directly.

What is the difference between Double room and Twin room?

A double room normally has one large bed for two persons, while a twin room has two beds.

We have two little kids. Can we ask for additional bed in the room?

Majority of our hotels provide the possibility of additional beds. Please check this possibility on the selected hotel description page.
