Besides concerts each year the city hosts various festivals dedicated to works of Bach and Mozart. The first Mozart Festival took place in the city in 1921. Late September is the time for another celebration, which traditionally leaves shoppers very excited. The annual Mainfränkischer Markt (Main Franconian Fair) is one of the most exciting events in the country. Hundreds of colorful stalls are installed on main squares of the city. Here visitors are welcome to buy various national delicacies, wine and crafts by local masters.
