The marvelous lift connects Upper Barrakka Gardens and the Lascaris Ditch, offering fabulous views of the city. The lift is 58 meters high and can carry up to 21 passengers. There is a fee for using the Upper Barrakka Lift (1 euro) if you are going up. Going down is free. However, visitors with ferry tickets don’t need to pay anything – it is enough to show the ticket at the lift entrance.

All fans of classical music simply cannot fail to visit the Royal Opera House. The gorgeous Opera House was built in the 1860s, but it was completely destroyed by German air forces in 1942. It was decided not to rebuild the building but leave ruins instead as a reminder of the war. The Opera House was redesigned into an open-air venue and now regularly hosts concerts and other performances. The feeling of listening to music while sitting above the ruins is simply inimitable.
