Travel Guide to Cozumel, Mexico

This is the largest Mexican city, the coast of which is simply fully occupied by white sand beaches, while the central part is covered with greenery. The resort has quickly become popular among scuba diving lovers. Water here is very clean and the reason for this is in unusual cay sand. The resort was opened in 1950. Since that time several dozens of hotels have been built there. Every hotel has a beach on its territory, a chain of restaurants and shops.
Many tourists simply enjoy sunbathing and swimming, or drinking fresh cocktails in local bars, but active sport lovers will find many interesting and entertaining activities in Cozumel. Asul Gallery features true glass masterpieces created by local glassblowers. Here you will also find a large collection of vases, lamps and jewelry made in the Mayan style. Balam Gallery is no less popular. It demonstrates a rare type of art – drawing on birds’ feathers. Small frames that we usually use for photos keep feathers that seem ordinary at a glance. However, if you look closer, you will see drawings featuring beautiful landscapes and flowers.
Real Castle is, probably, the most famous architectural sight of this place. It was built by Maya. On the territory of the castle you will see a well-preserved ancient temple, while the watching tower of the castle features a stunning panorama of the coast. Museum of Cozumel is one of the most widely visited places. The museum features several exhibitions. Here you will find a collection of geographic artifacts, exhibitions that will get you acquainted with the culture of Maya, and collections of plants and insects. The Central Square is a great place for walks. Near the square you will find numerous trading centers and restaurants.
