Noce River, Italy

From series “The Most Dangerous River Rapids for Rafting”
Lenght: 62 km.

In search of the best rafting places in Europe, many athletes go to Italy, to the rushing alpine Noce river. It is located on the territory of the picturesque region of Val-de-Sole, not far from the numerous towns and villages. Despite the proximity to civilization, the tourists who visit this area can feel full harmony with nature thanks to the river's banks, which are lush with the lush forest.

It must be noted that Noce is not only incredibly ripping and dangerous, but also irresistibly beautiful. In contrast to most muddy mountain streams, its water is very pure and has the pleasant light green color. Even in the high summer the river water remains refreshingly cool. The mountain river begins on the glacier Corno Dei Tre Signori, at the height of 3 360 meters above sea level. The length of the river forms about 62 km, and the average speed of its current reaches 9 km an hour on some routes.

The rushing river with the countless sleepers and rocks is as found for professional training. Its tributaries - Vermigliana, Noce Bianco and Rabbies are suitable for beginners of rafting. For several years now, Noce has been the site of the major rafting and kayaking competitions. The 2010 Europarafting Championship took place here. In general, the experienced sportsmen prefer to visit the river in spring, during active glacier melting. On the river Noce you can drive until the end of October. Next - Peace River

For decades, Trauttmansdorff Castle has been famous for its fabulous gardens that have turned into a popular recreation area in the town. The garden features a large collection of plants from different parts of the world. During a walk here, visitors can see an olive grove and a Japanese garden, look at an unusual hill with various species of cacti, and even admire an interesting water garden. Naturally, Alpine plants have a central place in this picturesque park. The garden occupies an area of twelve hectares in total, consists of eight botanic sections, and has many thematic installations and charming paths.

The Tyrol Castle is one more architectural landmark that is worth the attention of tourists. This was a family estate of the Counts of Tyrol. Starting from the 14th century, since the inception of the noble dynasty, the family has been living in this castle. The counts continue living in the gorgeous building even in modern times. Although the Tyrol Castle has permanent dwellers, one wing of the building is open for visitors. Tourists are welcome to see the beautiful halls in the Renaissance style and look at the exhibited paintings. However, a collection of old weapons is, perhaps, the most popular part of the castle.
