Dolomiti is the natural object of the world meaning. A lot of people know this mountain region as a nice place for skiing and snowboarding. Today this mountain group is a central object of the so-named national park. Its area is 15,9 thousand square meters. It has 18 peaks of 3 000 meters long. The highest peaks are covered with snow and lower areas are rich with beautiful pine and greenwood forest.
The mountain regions have a lot of touristic routes. Most people come here in spring in order to admire with the rare blooming orchids. Also, forests are rich with animals. It is home for brown bears, martens, hairs and rare varmints. Not everybody knows that the park has several interesting historical areas. Lagazuoi region is one of them. At the time of the First World War, there was made a huge system of underground tunnels. Also, you there had saved several traces from the torn bombs.

Top destination around Dolomiti - Mayrhofen
The picturesque mountain region still has the ancient Virgin Mary Church that was built in the 18th century. Despite the fact that the building suffered much damage from several fires, the church has still managed to keep its unique design in the Baroque style. One of the local squares of the city is the location of Marienbrunn Fountain that was built on its current site more than 700 years ago. In the past, it was the main source of drinking water in the town. Even nowadays water in the Marienbrunn Fountain is clean and meets even strict ecological standards. Europe Fountain is no less attractive. This fountain was built in 1956.
Zillertal Railroad is of a particular importance for the city. This railroad was built in 1902 and remains one of the oldest narrow gauge railways in the world. Nowadays, a small retro style train rides there, offering everyone to enjoy a comfortable excursion, during which attendees will be able to admire a miraculous mountain view. The train itself is of a great historical value. During an excursion, participants are allowed to walk in the train and even enter the operator’s cabin. Every carriage of the train is unique, but some are strikingly different, such as the “crystal carriage” decorated with Swarovski crystals. More than 60,000 crystals were used to create the design.
