Hidden Valley Falls is a legendary group of waterfalls in Belize, located on the territory of the Mountain Pine Ridge Nature Reserve. The height of the waterfall is 457 meters, it is incredibly beautiful, and in combination with the surrounding landscapes makes a fantastic spectacle. The area, where the waterfall is located, is unique from a botanical point of view. Mountains surrounding the falls are covered with pine trees. Nowhere else on Earth do pine trees grow so close to the equator.
In total there are more than ten waterfalls on the territory of the nature reserve. Each waterfall has unique features. Beside some waterfalls, luxury villas have been built, where wealthy tourists can relax. Other waterfalls form very beautiful pools in which you are allowed to swim. Near some waterfalls nest rare bird species, and in the pools of other waterfalls you can see rare fish. Hidden Valley is the largest waterfall not only on the territory of the conservation area, but also throughout Central America and has received the status of a National Monument.
An excursion to the unique waterfall costs about 1 dollar. This fee includes refreshments, as well as a visit to a handicraft shop located nearby. For many years, the caretaker of the waterfall has been creating original wooden jewelery you can buy as memorable souvenirs. Hidden Valley Falls is known to many travellers under a different name – 'The Waterfall of Thousand Feet', while its real height is much larger.
