Oede Kerk in Delft, Netherlands

The beautiful Old Church is located in Delft in the Netherlands. It is also famous for many travelers called Oude Kerk. The very first Church of St. Bartholomew was built on its site almost a thousand years ago. The current church was completed in 1246. The leaning bell tower is its main distinguishing feature today. It was built much later – in the middle of the 14th century. Its height is 75 meters. The vertical tilt of the bell tower is about 2 meters.
The Old Church is an important historical monument for Delft. This is the oldest religious building that has been preserved on the territory of the city. The church has been repeatedly subjected to various reconstructions and reformations over the years. But it still managed to preserve some of the original design elements and artifacts. Three ancient organs are considered its main values today. The very first of them was installed in the church in the 17th century.
