Liberec is a capital of the Northern Czech. The town was founded in XIII century on the basis of an old fortress built in the region of ford of Garkovitsky flow. Steadily the settlement grew into a city. In 2010 the population of Liberec reached 105 thousand of people.

Liberec is an important center of textile industry. Here are well-developed the production of woolen, silk, cotton and other fabrics. Machine building and car manufacturing are also on a high level in Liberec. In this city are often conducted fair trades devoted to textile.
