Barcelona can boast with the world famous Park Guell. That’s the wonderful city-garden, which is notable not only for landscapes, but also for architectural decorations. The opening of the park took place in the early 20th century. Originally, it was planned to build 60 houses. However, only two buildings were constructed. In the period from 1906 to 1926, Antonio Gaudi has lived in one of them. Today, there is a museum dedicated to the life and work of the world-renowned architect in this notable building.
Currently, the garden area occupies over 17 hectares. It was founded by the famous Catalan industrialist and politician Eusebi Guell. Antonio Gaudi himself created architectural and landscape park decorations. Amazing stories may be told about some sculptures and ornaments. So, in the park you can find a rather unusual curved bench that follows the contours of the body of a seated person. To design this bench, Gaudi asked one of the workers to sit on a bench of the not yet solidified concrete. Therefore the architect measured the bending of the back.
