Those who love to enjoy the beauty of exotic flowers beyond everything else, are sure to like Ashikaga Park. It’s located in the city of the same name, in Japan. The wonderful park is situated at the heart of the island of Honshu. Year-round, its territory is adorned by millions of fragrant flowers. The appearance of the park varies depending on the time of year. Between February and March, its guests can enjoy the flowering plum, daffodils, and tulips.

In April and May, the whole territory of the park is covered with rhododendrons and azaleas. In summer, it is decorated with dozens of species of many different flowers. Even in autumn, the park is fabulously beautiful, as at this time the saffron blooms. Experienced travelers advise to visit the Ashikaga Flower Park in May, when wisteria is in bloom. The age of these plants is more than a hundred years; they are closely interwoven with each other and form a fabulous tunnel of love. The park covers an area of more than 8 hectares. That scale is more than worthy for long leisurely walks.
The main treasure of the park is wisteria. There are more than 1 500 plants of that kind, whose age is no less than 60 years. The history of the park is very interesting. The first facility in the area was laid out hundreds of years ago by order of the emperor. Over the time, the scope of the park gradually expanded. A lot of flowers and plants were planted in the early 20th century. Some age-old wisterias have survived to the present day. Trees form the 80-meter-long Tunnel of Love. The wonderful park is open all year round, every day from 9 am to 6 pm.
