The city of Ekaterinburg is one of the top ranks among the Russian cities according to the number of original monuments. During the promenade on the picturesque waterfront of the Iset river, one can see the only monument of the computer keyboard in the world. The monument was designed by the sculptor Anatoly Wyatkin. The unusual 'Computerdenkmal' was opened on the Uferstraße in October 2010. The monument is an exact copy of the keyboard on a 30: 1 scale.

On the green lawn were placed the huge concrete pots, whose weight is from 100 to 500 kg. The length of the sculpture forms 16 meters, and the width - 4 meters. The surface of the giant keys contain the relief signs of the alphabet and the other functional symbols, which are the same as on the usual keyboard. The monument has many symbolic meanings. Many people unite with the industrial 'Steingarten'. The others see the beginning of the computer era.

The monument also has a practical purpose - since the opening, the inhabitants have been used as benches by the locals. Today the keyboard monument is one of the main attractions of Ekaterinburg and attracts not only hundreds of curious tourists, but also the world famous celebrities. During the assembly period, Professor Niklaus Wirth, author of the programming language Pascal, visited the monument. Despite the huge key weight, some of them have disappeared through few years after the opening. In 2011, the sculpture was completely restored and reconstructed.
