The end of May is marked by the beautiful FetAfrik Festival. The fact of the matter is that African Liberation Day (or simply Africa Day) is traditionally celebrated on May 25. As part of the event, they organize colorful parades accompanied by gastronomic, musical, and dance programs. June 18 is National Day, which cannot do without parades too. Independence Day is traditionally celebrated 11 days later, on June 29. On this day in 1976, the Seychelles gained independence from Britain. One more fishing festival takes place in November when craftsmen compete in catching large fish.
