Not far from the Mühlbach stream, there is an old water mill that was finished yet in the 18th century. The mill was working for almost 200 years. Zillertal Railroad is of a particular importance for the city. This railroad was built in 1902 and remains one of the oldest narrow gauge railways in the world. Nowadays, a small retro style train rides there, offering everyone to enjoy a comfortable excursion, during which attendees will be able to admire a miraculous mountain view. The train itself is of a great historical value. During an excursion, participants are allowed to walk in the train and even enter the operator’s cabin. Every carriage of the train is unique, but some are strikingly different, such as the “crystal carriage” decorated with Swarovski crystals. More than 60,000 crystals were used to create the design.
