Armenia is actually located on subtropical latitude. However, the corresponding subtropical climate in the country is observed only in the south. Spring in the plains is first observed at the start of March. Then again, it reaches the mountainous areas only in the first days of April. Nature immediately wakes from hibernation and wonderful green grass cover the landscape. The average daily air temperature does not exceed 12°C. As of March, temperature in the highlands still does not go beyond-1°C. Gardens begin to bloom in April, filling the air with delicious fragrant aromas. The daytime air temperature in the lowlands at this time is already between 18-19°C. However, a thaw begins in the mountainous regions and the temperature rises up to 5°C. Summer in the plains of Armenia comes with the beginning of June, but only on the last days of the month is it experienced in the mountainous regions. Generally, a lot of precipitation falls in this same month of June across the whole territory. The weather becomes very volatile and unstable. During the day, the air temperature reaches 27°C and at night it cools down to 16°C. In the mountains, 17°C is observed during the day. The highest temperature is recorded in July. The temperature reaches 28°C on the plains, and in the mountain regions, 18-19°C. In August, the same stable hot weather remains, except that the air temperature in the mountainous areas gradually begins to decrease at night. With the arrival of October, the temperature drops to 18°C and frosts are observed in the mountainous regions at night. In November, the temperature rarely reaches an index of 10°C. The first frosts are also observed on the plains at night. Most of the precipitation during this period falls in the Syunik region. On the other hand, there is usually no precipitation in the Ararat valley until the beginning of winter.

Armenia first of all, attracts tourists as a country rich in architectural and historical monuments. The best time for enjoying these beauties is early autumn. In September, the weather in the country is quite comfortable and warm (there are still no strong winds). What is more, the period of prolonged rain begins only from the end of October. Many people say that Nature in Armenia is most beautiful particularly in this period, when all the green landscape is gradually replaced by golden ones. Also, for the purpose of ethnographic and cultural tourism, one can visit Armenia in spring (from the end of March up until the middle of May). Tourists most often visit Yerevan in summer. At this time, a simply unimaginable number of local colorful shops open here where you can buy national products including the famous cognac “Ararat”. From the beginning of June, various hikes to the mountains are organized for fans of active recreation. The weather is not so cold during this period so the journey will be quite comfortable and exciting. The beach season on Lake Sevan begins from the end of June and lasts until mid-September. July is the hottest month in the country. Therefore, if you do not like exhausting heat, then it is best to visit the country at the end of August or at the end of June. By the end of September, it is quite possible to combine excursion holidays in Armenia with tasting the amazing and delicious fruits and berries of the country.

Winter recreation is also very popular in Armenia. The country is an ideal place for skiing with snow-capped peaks and mountain slopes. Please note that the quality of the trails and their safety is no worse than that in the advertised European resorts. On the other hand, prices for all winter entertainment, ammunition and accommodation are much lower. It should be noted that the weather in the mountainous regions of the country is the coldest in the whole of Armenia and already from October, it begins to snow here.
