Agadir is a famous beach resort located on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean. Its name can be translated as “The city of white color”. This name was given to the city because of numerous huge beaches with white sand. Agadir is a perfect place for tourists who seek active rest. Here you will find golf fields, tennis courts, and the beaches have wonderful conditions for surfing.

Most probably, this is the most “European” of all Moroccan cities. Here women don’t wear hijab and many local people prefer European style in clothes. One of the busiest tourist places in Agadir is the Boulevard of Mohammed Fifth. This street is ideal for walks; it is surrounded by incredibly beautiful buildings in the national style. On the boulevard, a lot of interesting shops are situated, with some fresh fruit sold right here on the open shelves. While walking along the boulevard you can buy interesting souvenirs, look into popular shoe stores, and buy very beautiful national clothes.

Another attractive place for walking is the fishing port of Agadir. This is a real open-air museum where a variety of sea vessels can be observed. Every morning, some fishermen go to the sea by boats, on which their distant ancestors sailed. Next to such "rarities" you can see some incredible and beautiful modern yachts. In the port area is constantly a busy place, at noon you can always buy fresh seafood.

Travellers who plan to visit Agadir with their children should definitely check out the "Valley of Birds" zoo. It contains the most exotic breeds of birds, including graceful pink flamingos, for which a beautiful artificial pond was equipped here. In addition to birds in this large and beautiful zoo, you can see typical representatives of the local fauna, including mountain goats and lamas, which are not afraid of people completely. This zoo is well equipped for recreation, it has many playgrounds and attractions for toddlers.

There is also a peculiar Old Town in Agadir - a very picturesque national quarter. Its construction was completed very recently, in 1992, and all the houses were built in accordance with old traditions and using original materials. This area is an open-air museum too. In each of the beautiful old buildings there are interesting souvenir shops, as well as craft workshops, where you can observe the work of local craftsmen and buy unique souvenirs. Furthermore, there are several excellent national restaurants in the Old Town area, whilst many tourists are attracted by the bakeries.
