Hunyad Castle, Romania

Romania is one of the top runners after the number of beautiful old castles and castles, among which Hunyad Castle must be mentioned. This Gothic castle is located in the town of Hunedoara. Its founder was the outstanding military leader Siebenbürgen and the regent of Hungary's Yanku de Hunedoara. The construction of the castle began in 1441 and lasted 15 years. The new defense system, built in its stead, was not only of great strategic importance, but also served as the main reserve for the Hunyad dynasty. Many interesting legends are connected with the beautiful old castle. It is true that Count Dracula was imprisoned in 1462. He spent seven years in the castle.

The wonderful medieval castle has preserved itself to the present excellent. Its area covers more than 7,000 square meters. In the castle there are more than forty rooms. One of the main elements of the building is two spacious terraces. The castle is surrounded by the deep moat, so you can only get into one of the two bridges. Today one of the most mysterious Romanian castles is not only accessible to the tourists, but is also used for public and private purposes.
