Year: 2006. Height: 73.6 meters.
The building of the National Library in Minsk is not similar to any other library with long narrow corridors and dilapidated walls in the world. The neometric form of the building is complicated and untypical. This is a regular rhombus cube octahedron, the height of which is 73.6 meters. The 23-storey building of the library has the area of about 113 700 square meters. More than half of the building area is allocated to the bookmagazine.
The original form of the building is by no means unique. The library façade was decorated with thousands of colorful LED lights. Many guests Minsk strive to see the library in the evening. At dawn, her façade is alive. The complicated colorful pictures then change. The media facade is illuminated until midnight. The library was relatively recently, opened in 2006, although the project of the unusual building was presented almost 20 years ago.
Next to the library building was the wonderful landscaped garden, which became the favorite resort for tourists as well as the local residents. For a relatively little money, all interested can visit the library. Another attractive 'tourist' object is the large viewing platform on the last floor of the building. The National Library of Belarus is the largest library of the CIS countries, and the building, which serves as its location, is considered one of the most beautiful modern buildings in Minsk.
