Despite the fact that Detroit is primarily known as a large industrial city, every year it is visited by more than 15 million travelers from different parts of the world. The city presents a large number of attractions, including outstanding historical and modern architectural monuments, museums and exhibition galleries. A significant part of city landmarks is associated with the name of Henry Ford. All tourists try to visit a unique automobile museum, as well as a mansion in which Ford lived. The situation inside the mansion is preserved as much as possible, so it is a unique museum of its kind.
In downtown, the most important and beautiful attraction is Detroit International Riverfront, which can be a great place for walking. Here you can see shining skyscrapers and beautiful parks, a huge number of entertainment venues, restaurants and shops is concentrated in Detroit Riverfront. The most striking modern architecture monument is the Renaissance Center. This is a group of seven beautiful skyscrapers, which together form a very spectacular architectural composition.
Other attractions near the waterfront include Joe Louis Arena, Hart Plaza, and Cobo Center, which has become the permanent venue for the annual International Auto Show. Fans of outdoor recreation would probably be interested in the Belle Isle where a beautiful park was founded. The picturesque isle immersed in greenery is connected to the waterfront by the pedestrian MacArthur Bridge.
