The numerous conversions of Pinecastle Army Airfield resulted in the establishment of Orlando International Airport in 1976. At present, the airport encompasses 4 runways and 4 passenger terminal buildings, connected by the monorail. The main terminal consists of two parts, which are the northern (A) and the southern (B) ones.
Traffic to or from the airport is carried out by several kinds of transport. These are scheduled buses number 11, 51, 42, and 111 (side A, level 1), airport shuttles, and taxis (side A, level 2). Free shuttles run between the airport and the city hotels. They depart from side B (level 1) of the main terminal. There is SunRail line, to which you should get by bus (the Sand Lake Road stop).
